Software development engineer for causal machine learning

Description

The Premedical (Precision Medicine by Data Integration and Causal Learning) Inria-Inserm team in Montpellier is seeking a Software Development & Machine Learning Engineer. Premedical, comprising experts in statistics, machine learning, AI, and clinical practice, specializes in developing methods in precision medicine, including causal and federated learning, while ensuring medical data confidentiality. The team’s mission is to accelerate the development of targeted drugs, deploy decision-support algorithms with precise confidence quantification, and bridge the gap between research and application by involving all stakeholders (patients, clinicians, regulators, companies, etc.), particularly through software development. This two-year fixed-term position focuses on the Traumatrix project, aimed at creating a real-time application for the SAMU control center to collect patient information and deploy predictive models. However, the team seeks a long-term collaborator to contribute across diverse projects, such as causal ML and federated learning, requiring strong backend and frontend development expertise, robust machine learning skills, and a passion for healthcare innovation.
